Dracula la la la: Musical with Bite

Getting you in the Hallowe’en Mood!

Script, Lyrics and Music by Jay Nagle and Dwayne Parks Silver Birchington Plays is delighted to now be representing this award-winning zany musical comedy that has been performed across the United States to enormous critical acclaim. The story opens as a group of birdwatchers and their chaperones, Sister Klotz and Maria Camphophanek who are on their way to a birdwatchers convention in Budapest. Their bus breaks down and they seek out help at a castle they just passed on the road. Once inside, they are greeted by a Wolfman butler, his mute wife and their bug eating son. After finding the phones are put of range, they decide to accept the master of house’s (Count Drayno) invitation. One of the birdwatchers, Jonnie decides to investigate further and meets the Count’s children, Vlad and Katrina. He also discovers the families deep dark secrets. The birdwatchers are going to be the feast for a huge vampire banquet. Help arrives in the form of a Burgermeister, Baron Von Stalker, who has found a Gypsy whose throat has been slashed. Before the Gypsy dies, she tells the Baron of all the secrets of the Drayno family and their past. And the fact, Katrina is really the Gypsy’s daughter. Jonnie interrupts the evening’s festivities; a party for the Counts daughters coming of age party, by freeing her of the house’s wicked curse. Finally, the Sister, Jonnie and the Baron join forces and battle the wicked vampire. Victory at last when they expose the Count to morning rays of sunlight and end his evil reign. But alas, someone is always lurking in the shadows… The running length of the show is 1 hour and 44 minutes

Sticks: The Little Match Girl

The setting for this story is London England. The story takes place around the months of November and December of the year 1872.  The location is a section of London known as Eastcheap. It is a dark and bleak time.  Buildings are rundown and people live out of trunks, suitcases and boxes. The story surrounds a little girl, Lizzie Billingsford, and her daily struggle with life.  After the untimely death of her mother, she now must live on the streets the majority of the time pedaling matches to support herself, and her
father’s drinking habit. She tries to see the good in all human beings at a time when there is no care for human life, except your own. Her father only sees in the little girl, what he has lost, his wife Beatrice. He has replaced love with alcohol. He is a scornful and bitter man. Into their life steps Eleonore, a proper young lady who is trying to survive the Dreadful times they are in. She befriends Lizzie and Bertie. After a period of time, Eleonore begins to fall in love with Bertie. Lizzie becomes resentful of the fact (through her alter-ego, Arthur), of someone trying to replace her mother who watches over her from above. Bertie demands that Lizzie is to see Eleonore as a replacement for her dead mother. Lizzie confused and angry runs back to the streets that have taunted her, her entire life. She finds solace in the Flames of a Matchstick one last time as she cradles herself to sleep in the arms of her mother in her dreams. Bertie searches frantically, but arrives too late to find the child limp and lifeless in the cold winter night alone on a park bench.

Slammer: The Prison Girl Musical

History of Slammer the Prison girl Musical

Slammer made its debut with a staged workshop production in October of 1996 at Totally New Theatre in Evansville Indiana followed by Productions in 1997 and 1998. After TNT relocating to Indianapolis in 1999 where TNT recreated it’s  theater productions at Garfield Park , once again presenting original musicals. In 2000 SLAMMER THE PRISON GIRL MUSICAL was entered in a contest through ComedySportz Indianapolis and won first place. The prize was to present SLAMMER the musical for three weekends at ComedySportz Indianapolis National theater . The show took off like gangbusters and was presented for the next ten months on Sunday and Monday evenings to sold out crowds.

Once again in 2002 TNT was on the move and the company moved to Chicago, Illinois. Within six months arriving ComedySportz Chicago contacted myself and Dwayne Parks( co-creator) and wanted to know if we would be interested in mounting SLAMMER  the musical at ComedySportz Chicago ( Formerly the Steppenwolf Theater). We agreed and put out an audition notice and a wonderful thing happened ! Several of the amazing cast members, who left audience members in stitches in the Indianapolis production, loved SLAMMER so much they traveled to Chicago  for Sunday and Monday night performances. Along with new cast members from Chicago they created performances to  sold-out crowds and the Uproarious  laughter continued .The show ran for almost a year.

And I’m very excited to bring this hysterical musical to  the screen.

We plan to start out with a trailer introducing all the characters in a music video/documentary style of filming. Next the musical numbers from the show will be filmed as  concept music video. Then finally the full length film version of Slammer The Prison Girl Movie Musical will be released. The cast primarily is men playing women. We plan to enter videos in LGBTQ film Festivals and contests.
